CNA Job Description

The Certified Nursing Assistant is responsible to assist nurses (RN or LPN) in patient care.

Typically reports to RN supervisor or Director of Nursing.

Qualifications:

  • Successfully completed a state approved nurses assistant training program
  • Must have current certification with state board
  • Must be able to safely and successfully perform job — related functions with or without reasonable accommodations required by federal, state, or local law

Duties:

  • Assists nurses with the implementing a documenting, nursing care based on patient’s needs
  • Care for multiple patients in the facility without difficulty
  • Observes patient’s rights
  • Provides personal care and assistance with activities of daily living
  • Assists nurses with giving treatments to patients
  • Assists nurses with admitting, transferring, and discharging patients
  • Assists with restorative and rehab care with proper instruction and supervision
  • Comes to work as scheduled and consistently demonstrates dependability and punctuality
  • Dresses and conducts self in professional manner
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
